Every breakthrough begins with a question.
Ours was simple:
“Why does privacy still look so outdated?”
Curtains, blinds, partitions — all temporary fixes that interrupt the clean lines of modern design. As an aspiring civil engineer, I was constantly around beautiful architecture… but I couldn’t ignore how often windows — the very eyes of a building — were treated as an afterthought.
That disconnect sparked an idea.
While working closely with marine and industrial engineering teams, I came across PDLC smart film — a technology used in ships, luxury hotels, and high-security labs overseas. I was fascinated. A material that could go from transparent to frosted at the tap of a switch? No moving parts. No dust. No compromise.
This wasn’t just a product.
It was the future of architectural privacy — and Australia hadn’t seen it done right.
So I got to work.
I researched global suppliers, tested dozens of film types, studied electrical integrations, and partnered with mentors in engineering, architecture, and interior design. I didn’t want to just sell smart film — I wanted to build a glass-tech company that raised the bar.
From there, Aptic Glass Tech was born — with one purpose:
